WBASNY Convention

​We attended the WBASNY Convention, which was held at the Gideon

Putnam in Saratoga Springs.  Our chapter was especially honored to watch

one of our long-time members, Adina C. Gilbert, receive the

Joan Ellonbogen Founder's Award, on May 31, 2024.  Please check our ​

                                We were also incredibly proud to watch our past president, Kerri Yamashita,                                      be sworn in as the recording secretary for the WBASNY.  Kerri is the first                                            member of our chapter to be elected to serve as an officer of WBASNY.                                            We are truly excited for her, and hope she starts a new tradition of former                                          MHWBA board members being eleted to serve as officers of WBASNY. ​

Installation Dinner

On May 15, 2024, we held our Installation Dinner at Cosimo's in

Poughkeepsie.  We were honored to be joined by the

Hon. Yvonne Flowers, Mayor of the City of Poughkeepsie, as our guest

speaker and we were so grateful that the Hon. James L. Hyer was able to

join us to perform the swearing-in.

Annual Meeting

We met for our Annual Meeting on April 3, 2024. ​We were pleased to vote unanimously in favor of the WBASNY slate and the MHWBA slate. ​

 

Third Thursday Luncheon

We gathered this month for a lovely luncheon at 225 Warren Street in Hudson! This was the first time we have hosted a Third Thursday Luncheon in Columbia County!

Women's History Month Celebration

We celebrated Women's History Month with an event at Locust Grove in Poughkeepsie. The Keynote Presentation was presented by Diane O'Leary, Esq. and the subject was Susanna Bedell & Charlotte Frank: Their Remarkable Backstories​

Third Thursday Luncheon

Our membership met up at Mill House Brewing Company for lunch with members of the Board! ​

 

FREE CLE!

The Mid-Hudson Chapter joined together with the Rockland Chapter, Westchester Chapter, and Orange-Sullivan Chapters of WBASNY to present a CPLR CLE via Zoom that was free to all WBASNY Members. The event was very well-attended and we look forward to welcoming Judge Dillon to another event in the near future!​

Annual Holiday Party

We joined together for a lively celebration of the newest members of the judiciary from our ranks: the Hon. Laura Wong-Pan, Hon. Linda Murray, and Hon. Angela Thompson-Tinsley. We raised funds for domestic violence victims at Grace Smith House and Ukrainian refugees.
